"description": "
Introduction
\n
\"Application Identifiers\" (AID) are ISO/IEC 7816 conforming identifiers with a size up to 16 bytes. In order to form a world-wide unique AID, a national or international registration authority assigns a 5 byte Registered Application Provider Identifier (RID) to an organization. Then, the organization can define AIDs by appending a 0-11 byte Proprietary application identifier extension (PIX) to the RID.
\n
RID for HickelSOFT/ViaThinkSoft:
\n
The Registered Application Provider Identifier (RID) \"D2 76 00 01 86\" was assigned to \"HickelSOFT Huth GmbH\" by the \"RID German National Registration Authority\" in September 2022.
\n
HickelSOFT shares its AID/PIX namespace with the organization ViaThinkSoft. To simplify the structure, all PIX assignments are managed in the OIDplus system of ViaThinkSoft (hosted.oidplus.com/viathinksoft). The OIDplus system of HickelSOFT (hickelsoft.de/oidplus) will not be used.
\n
The partition of the namespace is currently defined as follows:
\n
\n
PIX with the first byte in the range A0-AF are used to allocate AIDs to products and services by \"HickelSOFT Huth GmbH\".
\n
PIX with the first byte in the range B0-BF are used to allocate AIDs to products and services by \"ViaThinkSoft\".
\n
PIX with the first byte in the range E0-EF (\"E\" like \"Example\") can be used by anyone, without prior registration/permission, up to 80 bits application specific, for the purposes of documentation. These AIDs are not unique!
\n
PIX with the first byte in the range F0-FF (\"F\" like \"Foreign\") are made available for anyone to use, free of charge, by defining methods on how to share parts of the AID namespace in a way that ensures that there are no allocation conflicts and no human intervention required.
For example, owners of a IANA Private Enterprise Number (PEN) can automatically claim a part of the ViaThinkSoft AID namespace beginning with PIX F0.
The owner of the partial namespace can use their namespace to form AIDs. Obviously, since they only receive a small partition of the namespace, their Partial-PIX is smaller than the PIX a vendor would receive if they buy a \"full\" RID namespace.
\n
PIX with the first byte in the range 00-9F and C0-DF are reserved for future usage.
\n
",
